I first learned about the importance of rest through my close friend Heather. We were on a demanding ministry tour and discussing the importance of Sabbath. During this time 2 books called ‘The Rest of God’ by Mark Buchanan and “Can You Hear Me?” by Brad Jersak had found their way into my hands. I discovered a real need for a change in my approach of life in order to not only run the race well and be effective, but most importantly to be close to the Lord and hear His voice. This theme was an overhaul on the way I look at God, life, and ministry. I spent a year retreating to several places from International House of Prayer in Kansas City, Missouri, to Medicine Hat, Alberta, to the tiny town of Byron Bay Australia, and back to my bare one bedroom apartment in Winnipeg, Manitoba, all the while pursuing the Presence of God in my life and singing along with the songs of worship I heard in each place. Out of this time was born a dream to provide a ‘house of rest’ for people, so to speak – to create a space for people to enter into the ‘rest of God’ and be refreshed. While many may not be able to take a year long retreat, some may be able to start with a few hours.
This is the beginning of that dream. This is for the ones who want to ‘find rest for their souls’ even in the midst of the most busy time of their lives. These are ‘The Rest Sessions.’

Book Amanda for a speaking/singing session about resting in the Lord. Sessions can be anywhere from 1.5 to 4 hours long, with a break in between, depending on the dynamic of the day or evening. She is flexible to time constraints. This is not a concert event, but rather a time of reflection with purpose filled worship songs that are both devotional and corporate.
